I need to update, but I don't really have anything important up. I have a volleyball game tomorrow and a tournament the day after. I'll post after that. As for the picture, it's the strangely deformed cupcakes my mom made a couple days ago. We have no idea how they got like that.

I'm so glad I can still hear from you even tho' I'm in Leavenworth, Wash.
We're staying at the Enzian Inn. Look up the enzian flower, which it is named for.
"Do not fill cupcake liners more than half full. The cake will rise over the edge of the pan and cause a misshapen cupcake."
that's one possibility. uneven heat in oven or? find a creative name and pretend they were made that way intentionally.
To eat or not to eat...

We all need an A Rietta in our life...she always has a funny or honest comment for each posting.
I love it, Rietta.
Derek, thanks for clarifying the spotted cupcakes; it's been a long time since I've put sprinkles on anything...oh to go back to having the pleasure of boys in our home again critiqueing my baking...or not.

Boy, if you can't even make cupcakes from a mix, there's got to be something wrong!! I've never had this happen before, but it sure didn't affect the taste. They just looked ridiculous. Oh well, all 2 dozen are gone (eaten that is - not thrown out!)
